X-Geo Switzerland GmbH is currently looking for Geotechnical Engineer / Engineering Geologist (Graduate- Junior-Senior-Principal) in order to extend its geotechnical group in Qatar.
Job Description:
Indentify geological factors affecting engineering works. Conduct investigation programs to assess potential geological hazards and the suitability of earth materials for the design and construction of large civil works. Undertake feasibility studies, conduct design analysis, prepare design reports and plans and specifications for construction, and provide engineering services during construction for a variety of projects for varied domestic and international projects.
The primary responsibilities for this role will include:
• Technical lead on large geologically and geotechnically complex and challenging domestic and international projects.
• Prepare and manage investigation programs.
• Evaluate geologic hazards and perform site characterization.
• Determination of geological and geotechnical criteria for planning, design and construction.
• Assess subsurface conditions, including soil and rock properties and hydrogeologic and geomechanical conditions.
• Identify suitable material sources for use as earth fill and concrete aggregate.
• Analyze and design earth structures, including support systems for underground works.
• Interface and coordinate with clients, contractors, regulatory agencies and external review boards.
• Prepare technical reports and develop construction plans and specifications.
• Provide field engineering support for major construction projects.
• Managing staff, including other engineering geologists, geotechnical engineers, consultants and contractors.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
BS/MS pin Geological Engineering, Geology/Engineering Geology or Geotechnical Engineering.
• Fundamental knowledge of the principals of engineering geology, geological engineering, rock mechanics, seismology and hydrogeology.
• Technical experience in planning and supervision of geological, geotechnical and hydrogeological investigations; feasibility studies and reports; preparation of parameters for foundation analyses and designs, design of underground excavations and supports; geomechanical analyses, design of underground excavations and supports, slope stability evaluation and rock support; hydrogeological evaluation and seepage analyses; grouting and seepage control; preparation of technical specifications and baseline reports.
• Ability and desire to travel to domestic and international projects sites in various stages of development from feasibility through construction.
• Strong leadership and decision-making skills.
• Excellent english verbal and written communication skills.
