Environmental Consultant
ENVIRON is currently recruiting for an Environmental Consultant to join our well established and growing Site Investigation and Remediation divisions in our Rome office.
The candidate will act amongst other things, to undertake:
- Environmental reports from basic desk studies to Phase 1 level experience (Including site walkovers), assessments of sensitivity (geology, hydrogeology and hydrology), site history (review of historical maps, trade directories), council & regulatory consultations and qualitative risk assessments.
- Phase II Environmental Site Assessment soil and groundwater investigation, soil gas and/or ambient air monitoring.
- Site characterization, remediation, field activities and reporting in accordance with the Italian Environmental Code (D.Lgs. 152/06).
- Site-Specific Environmental and Human Health Risk Assessment.
- Assistance in communication/project management with international clients.
Requirements:
- Degree in relevant subject (BSc) with Master Degree in relevant subject.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience of applying liability/contaminated sites principles to a range of projects, preferably within environmental consulting industry.
- Technical knowledge of current legislation in relation to Italian environmental legislation, policy, guidance and procedures – especially contaminated sites and some key operational environmental regulations.
- Technical knowledge of the international standards for Risk Assessment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, both on a technical and commercial level.
- Strong organizational and proven team working skills.
- Fluency in English is an essential requirement.
- The ability to travel up to 50% of the time.
