The METU Earthquake Engineering Research Center collaborated with the Earthquake Department of the Disaster and Emergency Management Presidency to process the strong-motion data recorded during the 23 October 2011 Van Earthquake. The raw data are already posted on the web side of this institution (http://kyh.deprem.gov.tr/ftpe.htm). The processed and row strong-motion data are posted on the EERC web site (http://eerc.metu.edu.tr/Van_RawProc_Records). The processed recordings are in SMC format because we are using a software that implements Dr. David Boore’s processing programs. A report that describes the processing details and computation of other metadata parameters will be posted this week. Please spread this information to your colleagues as well.

On behalf of METU-EERC and Earthquake Department teams

Sinan Akkar.
