In the central part of the NAF we mapped the folding
associated with three large intramountain basins (Tosya,
Ilgaz, and Cerkes). These basins are bounded to the north by southeast verging thrusts underlying N70 –80°E striking anticlines [Barka, 1984].
The thrust folds are about 30 km long and have an average
strike consistent with the dextral slip on the NAF.
